HOMESICK

Koya Kamura

Two years after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, Murai braves danger and wanders through the no-go zone in order to spend time with Jun, his eight-year-old son.

Beautifully shot and full of genuine emotion, HOMESICK is a devastating film that explores grief and loss through magical realism. This film not only confronts the horrors that man can have on the environment, but also explores the difficulty of letting someone go. One of the most moving films that I screened this year, HOMESICK is not to be missed. — Jillian C (Programmer)
