Honorable Mention, Genre Film
Janina Gavankar, Russo Schelling
J is trying and failing to move forward as the scars of old relationships keep her trapped inside her new home. While hanging a piece of art, she knocks a hole in her wall that reveals what might be a hidden room. Her mind races to think what could be on the other side as she continues to unravel.
If you’re into strange genre films that keep you guessing and completely entranced, then STUCCO is the film for you. Excellently shot with a top notch sound design, this film immerses you into the world of a young woman living in fear of what could be on the other side of the hole in her wall. Using killer VFX and nightmarish imagery, STUCCO is wonderfully weird. — Jillian C (Programmer)

After forging a career in the commercial world, Russo Schelling fled Madison WI, and the bitter cold of an ex, to New York City, where he helped direct tandem units on MR. ROBOT, and assisted creator Baz Luhrman on THE GET DOWN. STUCCO is his narrative directorial debut.
