Private Moments

Artists are driven to pour their whole selves into their work — often mining deep, emotional territory. But how do you know when you’re truly ready to tap into those emotional reserves? When are certain feelings too raw, stories too fresh? What do you share for your audience, and what do you keep just for yourself? When does moving through trauma become cathartic in a collaborative creative space — and when is it simply cruel to be asked? Private Moments, directed by Jessica Barr, had me leaning in repeatedly, questioning my own role as a viewer — was I complicit in voyeurism or witnessing something vital?
