Living out of her car and hustling gig to gig, a woman takes a last-ditch job, house-sitting a cat — only to discover she isn’t there to care for the cat; she is the cat.
Listen, we’ve all done things we wouldn’t share on the internet for $20 (but I would for $25). And in the “hustle” economy that we live in you’ve got to claw at whatever extra money you can find, even if it tests your limits. For me that’s what makes HOUSE CAT so entertaining: it's an eccentric commentary on this culture that filmmaker Kyle Spleiss skillfully crafts from unflinching silliness. The performances are exceptional (lead by a mesmerizing turn from Katy Wicker) and cinematography plays almost like a documentary in capturing these cats on the prowl. Every beat, every moment is perfectly paced for the biggest laugh and the drama is superb; this film is just about purr-fect.
