Salute Your Shorts’s motto, films with an aftertaste, is perhaps best reflected in Ben Brewer’s A FOLDED OCEAN. It’s one of the most original short films I’ve ever seen. Through mesmerizing visual effects and sparse dialogue, Ben prompts profound introspection regarding our own romantic involvements: where do we draw the line between intimacy and suffocation? Moreover, it offers a glimpse into the depths of losing oneself in another individual.
