Director Aude Thuries took a simple, magical premise and explored it with depth, complexity, nuance, and humour. This film believes in the best for all it’s characters. It manages to challenge the relevancy of the church while still looking kindly upon Jesus. It has a clear and important message, but shares it without becoming didactic or agenda driven. This film is a sandbox of mystery. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, I was surprised and delighted. I’ve been completely swept up in the ending of this film and haven’t stopped thinking about it for months.
