Director Ashley Paige Brim explores adoption, fertility, and race with incredible nuance and sensitivity in this powerful film. I’ve never seen this topic explored like this, and it is perhaps one of the more moving films of the entire festival. Creative editing, subtle transitions, and brilliant cinematography ensure all the emotions hit exactly as they are meant to. A rarity for me, I gave this film a perfect rating because, well, this is a perfect film.
