BELIEF

Directed by Christian Loubek

Produced by Christian Loubek, Erika Hamilton & Schadrack Karekezi

United States | English | 14' | Coming of Age, Inspirational

Alongside his wife and daughter, Lennox joyously unpacks their new home but is left speechless when he finds a letter in a moving box labelled 'mom' that predestines a different life for him – it’s not as he remembers.

BELIEF, quiet and tender, is a feel good tribute to the transcendent power of mothers’ strengths and sacrifices. First time writer/director Christian Loubek casts his own family for inspiration waiting until his boys grew old enough to act alongside their mother. Well shot and edited, this film has a powerful reveal and a strong message with music that propels the emotions forward. BELIEF parallels the story of Thomas Edison whose own mother homeschooled him because the school considered him “addled”. Imagine life without him. Where would we be without mothers?
