The Truck
Directed by Elizabeth Rao
Produced by Eliza Soros
United States | English | 13' | Drama
An impulsive Chinese American teen and her boyfriend try to buy the morning after pill in post-Roe America.
Three words: emotional gut punch…. In the best possible way (Okay, eight words). Every time I watch this damn film, I sob. On the surface, it’s about a teenage couple trying to buy Plan B in post-Roe America. But it has less to do with politics, and more to do with navigating young love… about the depth of feeling and the inability to express that go hand-in-hand in youth, the resulting complications and tragedies that we then carry with us for years. Writer/director Elizabeth Rao is a true talent-to-watch (as are the lead actors), and I cannot wait to see what she makes next.
