A divorcée goes on her first date in years and immediately tries to force a love connection over chicken wings.

There’s nothing more perfect than finding someone who matches your freak. FIGHT FOR THE FANTASY follows the double divorcee Clarice on a first date with an online connection. Director Marissa Goldman and writer/star Sara Henessey flood you with so much candid oversharing, you’ll be squirming. As a self-proclaimed lover of cringe, I was already sold. But then the short pulls off something even better. The brilliance of this film is that you’re bracing for an impact that never comes. Instead, you’re left wondering: What if we could truly let it all hang out? How rad would that be? I did not want this short to end—something that’s rarely happened to me in 10 years of programming a film festival. Can we please get a feature?
