First Down is a gripping documentary that profiles an underdog team in America’s first all-girls tackle football league. This band of misfits and outcasts compete for the title while tackling their struggles both on and off the field.

When you think of football, I bet you don’t picture high school girls! Before watching this film, I didn’t even know that there were football teams for women! First Down is a moving portrait of a football team and showcases the confidence and camaraderie the players find in themselves and each other. Inspirational and uplifting, First Down shows that gender shouldn’t matter when it comes to contact sports.
