A thirtieth birthday finds two friends dealing with different realities of the Black Harlem experience
A stylized slice of life set in the gentrifying neighborhoods of Harlem, It's Snowing In The Summer paints a portrait of two men who are questioning their respective paths. The textures that make this film rich and memorable are specific to the black experience, but the emotional undertones are universal and cut deep. “Will the dreamer ever realize his ambitions?” “Is there a difference between ‘facing the inevitable’ and ‘selling out’?” The experimentally drawn It’s Snowing In The Summer tackles all this and more with humor and heart. — Erin Brown Thomas, Artistic Director
