PLEASE HOLD

Directed by Kristen "KD" Davila

Produced by Diego Najera, Marc Mounier, Levin Menekse

United States | English, Spanish | 19' | Fiction

In the near future, a young working-class Latino is wrongfully arrested. Realizing he has no means of recourse in the fully automated, fully privatized justice system, he attempts to reach a human being who can set things right.

Director Kristen “KD” Davila takes us on a frustrating and suspenseful journey and has us fighting for our lead character every step of the way. If you’ve been annoyed by robot phone operators before, you’ll need to take a deep breath before this plunge. With excellent pacing and inventive storytelling, Please Hold reflects the demons of our modern day privatized justice system in which human beings are racially profiled and commodified. — Jillian Corsie, Programmer
