FISHMONGER

Directed by Neil Ferron

Produced by Valerie Steinberg, Jordan Willcox, Neil Ferron

United States | English | 23' | Fiction

In this supernatural dark comedy, a pathetic Irish fishmonger must survive a sex pact with an ancient fish creature in order to save his mother's soul from burning in hell.

Part horror, part comedy, part experimental, writer / director Neil Ferron takes us on a wild ride that keeps the viewer engaged through reveal after reveal. The look of the film from the black and white format, expressionist lighting, and fun practical effects are big wins here. It is jam packed with interesting ideas, shots and music cuts. Wonderfully original, absolutely disgusting, FISHMONGER doesn't stop being entertaining for the full 25 minutes. I “salute” the boldness of Neil Ferron’s voice. — Lauren Reid Brown, Director of Programming
