HOODIE

Directed by Renée Felice Smith, Chris Gabriel

Produced by Rachel Walker, Renée Felice Smith, Chris Gabriel

United States | English | 20' | Fiction

HOODIE is a surreal, mental health dramedy about a seemingly successful young woman’s internal struggle with crippling depression.

Puppetry? Pas de deux? Pubic hair? This New York-turned Los Angeles creative duo’s newest film has everything! (cue Stefon voice). What do you do when your go-to-comfort clothing starts gaslighting you into thinking you can’t do better than it? The answer lies within Renee Felice Smith and Chris Gabriel’s newest traumady. HOODIE is an incredibly brave piece of filmmaking, particularly from Renee, who vulnerably shares the mental health struggles she endured transitioning out of a period of heavy limelight. Through relatable, embarrassing, and hilarious inner-dialogue, Renee and Chris remind us of the importance of community – a choir that can drown out the voice in your head. — Erin Brown Thomas, Artistic Director
