Take Me Home

Directed by Liz Sargent

Produced by Minos Papas

United States | English | 16' | Fiction

After their mother’s death, a cognitively disabled woman and her estranged sister must learn to communicate in order to move forward.

This beautiful film earned a much-deserved premiere at Sundance 2023, and I’m so glad to welcome it to SYS. When Anna’s mom passes away unexpectedly, she calls her older sister Emily for help. What Anna doesn’t totally comprehend is that Emily will need to become Anna’s caretaker, since Anna’s cognitive disabilities prevent her from living on her own. The film lovingly captures a moment of great change and loss in these two sisters’ lives, with stellar performances by Anna Sargent and Jeena Yi. A must-see.
