The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has changed film festivals like never before. Cinemas and movie theaters have been closed which means film festivals have been canceled, postponed, or adapted into an online format. The 2020 edition Salute Your Shorts Film Festival announced last month to host a drive-in / online festival hybrid event. Today, the festival announced that it will be teaming up with Street Food Cinema to host the Opening Night Drive-In Event at Brandeis Bardin Campus - Simi Valley on August 21, 2020. Doors open at 6:30 pm and screening at 8:30 pm.
Selected films will be shown at the venue in celebrating creative stories and talented filmmakers. The full lineup will be announced on July 28, 2020. Ticket sales for both the drive-in event and the online festival start in early August.
