United States | English | 13' | Comedy, Psychological Thriller, Satire

An empathetic manager at a tech company receives a board ordered directive that blows her mind.

If there’s one thing I love, it's a film that reckons with the internet. In Queen of Hearts writers Joey Ally and Victoria Gekas capture the paradoxical nature of connection in the digital age, highlighting how siloed our lives have become through the “luxuries” of the Internet. The film becomes a poppy meditation on our current moment (lead by Gekas in a wonderfully earnest turn) as friends, loved ones, work colleagues, even doctors become locked behind screens. From the writing (and deft cinematography by T.J.Williams Jr.) comes a referendum on maintaining humanity and whimsy; I couldn’t help but think of all my friends working from home who have expressed these exact sentiments. This film is a strange mirror of us, and I can’t wait to look into it again.
