SCABS

Directed by Tommy Butler

Produced by Phoebe Schaub

United States | English | 14' | Fiction

A skin picker and his girlfriend dance around his compulsive behavior, which threatens to tear their relationship apart.

SCABS is a deeply personal and impactful film that resonates with me on a profound level. It’s so rare that we get to see Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors represented in film, and in such a realistic way. Filmmaker Tommy Butler does a fantastic job capturing the common thread of shame experienced by those affected. SCABS sheds light on a rarely seen topic, making it a significant and heartfelt film that deserves recognition, and I’m so excited to be able to share this with an audience. — Jillian Corsie, Programmer
