STOMACH BUG

Directed by Matty Crawford

Produced by Karima Sammout Kanellopoulou

United Kingdom | English | 15' | Horror

A disturbing unravelling of a single Father struggling to cope with empty nest syndrome as it begins to manifest physically.

I got into horror because it’s a genre that uniquely uses the fantastic and the grotesque to help us face the deep fears of the mundane, and Stomach Bug accomplishes that in spades. We meet a father afflicted with an inexplicable stomach malady that can hardly compare to a much deeper affliction: the loneliness of separation from a daughter who no longer relies on him. Director Matty Crawford envelops us in a fleshy, dank nightmare that still, every parent can relate to. The powerful combo of pathos and puke will keep you riveted and will stay with you.
